Kicker Rock | Day Tour price $140 | Galapagos
Kicker Rock, is a tour that I recommend in Galapagos. Swim between the two huge rocks is something you definitely need to do in the Galapagos. I can help you reserve your tour to Kicker Rock for *$140.
Kicker Rock tour in the San Cristobal Island (Galapagos – Ecuador) is one of the most emblematic places in the islands and, with a bit of luck, you’ll see hammerhead sharks in the depths of the water here. You’ll experience some of the best snorkeling on San Cristobal Island, observing abundant marine life. Prepare to see: Turtles, Galapagos Sharks, sea lions and various types of birds that concentrate on Kicker Rock.

How to get to Kicker Rock
There are two ways to arrive to Kicker Rock in the Galapagos. First, on a Galapagos cruise that includes León dormido on its itinerary. Second, take a tour from San Cristobal Island. The 360 tours also includes a stop at this destination.
Trip itinerary
You’ll begin at the operator’s office and be directed to the Tiburon Martillo touristic dock. Once on board, you sail for 45 minutes until you reach León dormido orthe beach that combines, depending on the yacht’s itinerary. León Dormido in Spanish, is usually combined with these beaches: Witch’s Hill, Manglecito or Puerto grande.
The time dedicated to Kicker Rock on este tour is almost 2 horas. In contrast, the time spend here on the 360 Tour is around 45 minutes – 1 hour. What’s important is spending more time on Leon to learn more about its fauna and have more time to contemplate animal life on León dormido.
I recommend reserving your tour far in advance, especially if you want to find availability on the itinerary that combines with Playa Cerro Brujo (Witch’s Hill Beach).

After a lot of research, I found a travel assistance service that really works and helps in difficult moments. Good travel insurance that covers flight cancellations is key and, in purchasing this, travelers that visit my blog also get a 5% discount.
The Kicker Rock tour was fantastic – we all really loved it and it was worth the cost. Even though the visibility wasn’t great due to the time of year we visited, we saw lots of amazing sealife whilst snorkelling, including many turtles, sharks, rays, and sealions feeding on a large school of fish. We had our own 3mm long-sleeved wetsuits and were fine, but others on our trip had short-sleeved ones provided by the company, and most of them got quite cold by the end of the second snorkelling session. A wonderful experience, and highly recommend it!
The tour to Kicker Rock was spectacular! Everything was well organized. The boat, crew, and guide were all top-notch.
My husband and I took the 1/2 day snorkeling trip to Kicker Rock. Our boat had both divers and snorkelers. Our naturalist guide on the boat was Carlos. He did a great job explaining the variety of birds and marine life we saw. Our snorkel experience was great. We saw an abundance of fish and sea turtles. We also saw two rays and three white tipped sharks. It was exciting! The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. They were quick to come up with a plan B for our lunch location due to rough seas. The prepared lunch was delicious, especially the banana cake! Overall, a definite highlight to our Galapagos trip. Thank you!
Great trip! Enthoustiastic and wonderful crew (wreckage bay, guide Christian). Fantastic snorkeling, beautiful colors microlife and fish, including hammer head sharks
One of the most amazing days of my life. Beautiful boat ride to Kicker Rock with wildlife all around the boat including a huge pod of dolphins fishing and playing in the waves. Snorkeling with about ten hammerhead sharks, abundant schools of fish, rays and turtles. Boobies and frigate birds on the rock. Great buffet lunch on board and then an amazing beach with marine iguanas and sea lions. Christian our guide and the boat drivers and assistants were excellent. Points to note. The snorkel is quite long and the water is cool. Almost everyone was cold so we took a break and all had a drink and snack back on the boat midway through the snorkel. I wore two wetsuits as I had taken my own in addition to renting one! We were lucky with calm seas so good for the boat ride and the snorkeling. The snorkel equipment was excellent. On Cerro Brujo beach (which is beautiful) put on some insect repellent as the small horsefly type flies can bite you and go for a swim as well as exploring the beach. It would have been good to try on out wetsuits as one was a little large so that person got cold and to identify clearly which is the Tourist dock where the boat leaves from….it’s the small one to the right of the main dock which is also marked tourist dock. Thanks for a great day and many lasting memories.
Super easy and fast organisation of the tour eith choko trip. I really enjoyed the half-day kicker rocker tour as you can snorkel with sea lions.
The trip to Kicker Rock was more than I could have expected from beginning to end. The crew took complete care of us. Our dive master took extreme attention to all of our needs. Thank you.
The trip to kicker rock was the best trip we made on the Galapagos. the crew onboard was very friendly, the guide was helpful en professional en the snorkeling was amazing. even before entering the water the first hammerheads were seen. a must do trip when visiting the Galapagos.
Great Kicker Rock tour with a very knowledgeable and professional guide and diving instructor. Lots of marine life and a gorgeous beach to enjoy!!
We really enjoyed our trip to Kicker Rock and Punta Pitt. We had a great snorkel at Kicker Rock and saw hammerhead and Galapagos sharks and turtles and loads of fish. We then had an excellent walk at Punta Pitt and got to see the red-footed and blue-footed boobies up close, including some chicks. The booking experience with Choko was great. Our original day trip was cancelled last minute and he impressively managed to find us space on this trip which we really appreciated.
This was a great snorkeling experience. We were able to see a lot of sharks, a sea turtle, a sea lion, eagle rays, and a lot of fish. It was a great adventure. The beach we visited after the snorkeling was also really beautiful with very white sand and marine life. The guides were extremely helpful, especially with my son who is 6. This was a great Kicker rock tour!
We loved snorkeling at Kicker Rock! Although the 360 trip was highly recommended, we were just coming off of a cruise and just wanted the opportunity to snorkel at Kicker Rock, so this was the right trip for us. We’d already seen so much sealife, as we’d been snorkeling/diving for five days on our cruise, and this was one of our favorite snorkels. We saw four spotted eagle rays swimming together, a school of hammerhead sharks, an octopus (we’d been looking for one all week) plus so many colorful fish. I was amazed at how beautiful the reef was here.
One of the best parts of our tour was our guide, Ariana. She was great at seeing things underwater, like the rays, making sure we all knew when there was something to see, and taking incredible GoPro video as well. She sent her footage to all of us after the trip. She’s also extremely knowledgeable about sea life and all things Galapagos. We learned a ton from her.
We also loved the remote beach we visited after Kicker Rock – the contrast of the white sand and lava rock is stunning – and lunch was delicious. The booking experience with Choko was great! We’d initially reached out about the 360 trip, and when we changed our minds, he quickly found us a shorter trip instead. I highly recommend booking with him!
Terrific tour with a terrific guide, Christian, who was incredibly organized at handling 12 people in and out of the water. Good snorkelling.
I spent ten days in the Galapagos Islands, and this was one of my top two excursions of the entire adventure. Kicker Rock was so amazing – it’s almost indescribable. Everything was as advertised as far as the pick up from the hotel, the snorkeling guide, and the boat crew. We saw everything we expected to see and more. The price was competitive with other companies. Easy to book. Highly recommend.
Snorkel guide was awesome! We took home a SD card of the videos he captured, love it! We found turtles, sea lions, star fish, birds. Truly a magical place. Thank you for everything! I would recommend this trip.
Another excellent trip organised by Christian.
Everything was perfect, the boat, the schedule and the trip. It is quite an amazing spot for snorkelling and the beach we stopped by before reaching Kicker Rock is very special.
The trips are so well organised that you barely see other people. They have got very tight schedule they have to respect in order to preserve the environment and make sure that the trips do not get touristy.
I will never thank Christian enough for all the effort he put into organising the trip for us and making sure that everything was flowing seemlessly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The tour group and the group who provided the gear (Sharksky) were excellent. The tour guide spoke excellent English and Spanish and provided detailed instructions and explanations for the trip and the areas we were visiting. The gear including the wet suits provided by Sharksky was in excellent condition and was provided to us before the day of the trip so that we could ensure everything fit well before we made our way to the site.
Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Great service from start to finish. Would highly recommend!
Thank you so much for making my time in the Galapagos Islands memorable and fun!! For the first 2 hours 45 minutes, I only say 2 sharks at Kicker Rock. Then in the last 15 minutes, a school of hammerhead sharks swam underneath me. I must have seen 50-75 sharks. This was an unforgettable experience, so thank you !!
This was a great and perfect tour!
On this tour I did scuba diving while my wife did some snorkeling, so there were two groups on one boat which wasn’t a problem, though. Everything was very well organized, the boat was fast, the food was good, the guides were friendly and helpful and Kicker Rock was a great spot!
I would highly recommend the booking with Choko since he organized this tour for us on short notice and very quick and reliable.
And at a quite competitive price as well.
Snorkeling at Kicker Rock was the best I have ever experienced. We swam with white tipped sharks, black tipped sharks, hammerheads, sea lions, spotted eagle rays, sea lions, sea lions and countless colorful smaller fish. Our guide had a GoPro and sent us video of all the highlights.. If you scuba dive this is the place to go if you are only doing land based trips. This tour also included a trip to one of the most beautiful secluded beach’s to swim, snorkel and explore. One of the best days of our Galapagos adventure. I would highly recommend booking in advance with Choko to simplify your vacation and make sure that you can go on the day you want to. Prices are competitive with everything we looked at.
Would use this company again. very helpful. and the dive company were very friendly with good trips
This was an excellent trip. The boat was very comfortable and clean. The guides were very professional and helpful and made you feel relaxed. I had a great trip and saw a hammerhead shark whilst snorkelling. Wonderful!!
