How to Get to Bartolomé Island from Santa Cruz?
There are two ways to get to Bartolome in the Galapagos. First, one a Galapagos cruise that includes a Bartolome trip on its itinerary. Second, taking a day tour to Bartolome Island from Santa Cruz Island.
The trip to Bartolome combines with one of these destinations: » Sullivan Bay » Golden Beach » Chinese Hat Island
Trip itinerary
Everything begins at a meeting point assigned by the operator you’ve hired for the tour to Bartolome. Afterwards, you travel around 45 minutes to get to Itabaca canal. Once on board, you sail for 2 hours, until you reach Bartolome Island or a destination that combines, depending on the yacht’s itinerary.
Once on the Island, you begin a walk up to the lookout with the best view in the Galapagos Islands. After that, you’ll have lunch on board the yacht. Depending on the permission granted to your vessel by the Galapagos National Park, you’ll do one of the following activities:
» Sullivan Bay:
You’ll snorkel and during dry season, you can see penguins. Alternatively, ask to be taken directly to the beach to go on a short hike over dry lava Pahoehoe.
» Golden Beach:
Throughout the trips I’ve made to Bartolomé I’ve never taken a tour that includes Playa Dorada on its itinerary. However, as in other tours, you have the option to snorkel or enjoy the beach.
» Chinese Hat Island:
Two vessels include Bartolomé + Chinese Hat in its itinerary. Yachts depart Monday and Friday. The snorkeling activity takes place on Sombrero Chino / Chinese Hat.
This tour is in high demand. I recommend booking the Bartolomé Galapagos tour well in advance, especially if you are traveling as a couple or in a group.
In 2026 we celebrate 10 years of helping travelers make the most of their experience in the Galápagos Islands.
Bartolomé Galapagos video
Did you know that part of the movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World was filmed on Bartolomé Galapagos? They shot scenes showing the iconic volcanic landscape and the famous rock formation known as Pinnacle.

Tour prices
I work with 11 tour operators that own their own boats, so you can travel to Bartolomé Island on different types of vessels: low cost, standard, superior, first class, and luxury. Prices vary depending on the operator, ranging from $270 to $395 USD.
This does not mean that you will have a different itinerary. Rather, the difference is in the onboard service: a larger yacht, better snorkeling equipment, more elaborate meals, and even the quality of the guide can be an added benefit, since guides are expected to provide a higher level of service when they are paid more.
If you need more information about the differences between the yachts and their prices, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Bartolomé Tour
Is it really worth visiting Bartolomé?
Yes, definitely. Many people may be discouraged by the price, as the Bartolomé Island tour is one of the most expensive tours you can find from Santa Cruz Island. You should also consider approximately 2 hours of navigation for the round trip.
However, believe me: you will not regret taking this tour. Bartolomé’s volcanic landscape, the hike to its viewpoint, and the opportunity to go snorkeling and see Galápagos penguins make it one of the best Galápagos tours for many travelers.
What can you see in Bartolomé?
One of the main attractions of Bartolomé Island is the hike to the top of the viewpoint. Along the trail, you will find different stops where the guide explains how the island was formed, its volcanic origin, and the characteristics of this impressive landscape.
Each stop offers a different perspective of the Galápagos landscape, and when you reach the top, you will enjoy one of the most impressive panoramic views in the archipelago.
How much does the Bartolomé tour cost?
The Bartolomé tour is the most expensive tour in the Galápagos Islands. Prices vary depending on the operator, ranging from $270 to $395 USD. Therefore, if you want to book this tour according to your budget, it is best to do so several months in advance, especially if you are traveling during holidays or in December.
What types of boats are available?
The tour departs from Santa Cruz Island and is the only one that offers a variety of boat options, all with a capacity for 16 passengers to travel comfortably. You can travel by yacht, motor sailboat, or catamaran.
What is the difference between low cost, standard, superior, first class, and luxury options?
This is one of the questions travelers ask most often before booking a Bartolomé tour because prices vary depending on the type of boat. The main difference is that the more expensive boats are larger and offer greater comfort. Onboard services such as snacks, lunch, and snorkeling equipment are generally more elaborate and of better quality. More expensive operators also tend to work with guides who focus on providing an excellent level of service.
How long does the Bartolomé tour last?
The Bartolomé Island tour can last approximately 10 to 11 hours.
It is a tour that requires quite a bit of time because it includes the bus transfer, navigation from Santa Cruz, the hike, snorkeling activities, and time for lunch.
Is the Bartolomé tour suitable for children?
Yes, children can take this tour. However, if you are traveling with young children, I recommend considering a first-class boat.
These boats are usually larger and more spacious, allowing the whole family to travel more comfortably during the approximately 2 hours of round-trip navigation. They also normally offer snacks and other services that can make the journey more comfortable for children.
Can you go snorkeling in Bartolomé?
Yes. Approximately 25% of the tour is dedicated to snorkeling activities, although the exact location may vary depending on the date, sea conditions, and the yacht you have booked.
Depending on the itinerary, snorkeling may take place at locations such as Playa Dorada, Bartolomé, or Chinese Hat. At these sites, you may have the opportunity to observe different species of marine wildlife characteristic of the Galápagos.
What animals can you see on the Bartolomé tour?
Remember that the Galápagos Islands are a wild place. Animals live freely in their natural environment, and for this reason, no tour can guarantee sightings of a specific species.
However, depending on the conditions and the season, you may have the opportunity to see:
- Sea lions
- Sea turtles
- Tropical fish
- Galápagos penguins
- Blue-footed boobies
- Frigatebirds
- White-tip reef sharks
- Galápagos hawks
Galápagos penguins tend to have a higher chance of being spotted during the colder-water season, although nature can always surprise you.
What are the best months to visit Bartolomé?
There is really no bad season to visit Bartolomé. The island maintains its impressive landscape throughout the year.
If your priority is taking photographs with clear skies and good lighting, sunny conditions can be ideal. During the colder season, especially between September and October, there may be more cloud cover.
Even so, weather conditions can change quickly in the Galápagos, so it is not possible to guarantee a specific type of weather for a particular date.
Which is better: Bartolomé or Santa Fe?
The choice between Bartolomé and Santa Fe will mainly depend on your interests and budget.
The Bartolomé tour is usually considerably more expensive than the Santa Fe tour, but it offers a unique volcanic landscape and one of the most famous panoramic views in the Galápagos.
If you are looking for a more affordable experience, Santa Fe can be an excellent alternative. If your priority is to visit one of the most iconic landscapes in the archipelago, Bartolomé may be worth the extra cost.
Which is better: Bartolomé or Pinzón?
Bartolomé remains one of the most popular daily tours from Santa Cruz Island, especially because of its landscape and the hike to the viewpoint.
Pinzón, on the other hand, offers a different experience and is more focused on snorkeling and marine life. Depending on the conditions, you may experience a greater sense of adventure while swimming near sharks, penguins, and other marine species.
If you are looking for landscapes and photography, Bartolomé may be the better option. If your priority is snorkeling and marine life, Pinzón can be a very interesting alternative.
What should I bring on the Bartolomé tour?
I recommend bringing:
- Hat or cap
- Camera or cell phone
- Comfortable clothing
- Closed-toe shoes or sandals
- Wetsuit
- Sunscreen
- Water
- A sweater or windbreaker if you are traveling during the colder season
- A book or some form of entertainment for the boat ride
If you are traveling with children, it may be useful to bring a tablet or other form of entertainment to make the approximately 2-hour boat ride more enjoyable.
What happens if there is bad weather for the Bartolomé tour?
Weather conditions can change in the Galápagos, and a cloudy day does not necessarily mean that the tour will be canceled.
For example, there may be bad weather on Santa Cruz Island while conditions in Bartolomé are different. In addition, Bartolomé is an island with little vegetation and a completely different landscape, so conditions can vary from one island to another.
Tours are generally canceled when conditions create a risk for navigation, such as a tsunami warning or other situations determined by the authorities and the tour operator.
When a tour must be canceled for safety reasons, the operator will normally try to reschedule it for another date or arrange a refund, depending on the booking conditions and the operator’s policies.
Chokotrip unlike Viator, Civitavis, GetYourGuide and other
When you book tours through ChokoTrip or ChokoTours, you`ll receive the names of the boats and operators, so you have security in your reservations. Many people believe that the policy on websites like Expedia, Viator, etc that allow you to cancel your tour 24 hours in advance are favorable however, it also means tour operators can cancel your tour 24 hours in advance, which happens frequently in Galapagos. This is not a risk when booking with us because we work directly with the local operators, which also allows us to keep our prices down. We dont take big commissions from the locals that the travel companies do so our prices are not inflated.

Choko Tours was a great help planning our 3 experiences on the 3 islands we visited in the Galápagos Islands.
They had great communication, gave great tips on travelling to the islands and booked everything.
Bartolomé Island was a lot of travelling from Santa Cruz but we really enjoyed the Caba Rosa tunnel experience from Isabela Island the best and also loved the 360 degree tour from San Christobel Island. They both had fabulous snorkelling spots, we saw lots of sea life and not too much travel to get there. Thanks Choko Tours for all your help and experience.
Adoramos o passeio.
Great to book with Choko as opposed to other agencies – he was very communicative, and we were on the tour with others who had paid much more via other tour agencies. Bartolome itself is meh, especially for the price and the length of time you are on the boat – the hike is alright, and the snorkeling is meh. We did get very lucky and see a penguin though, which is rare at bartolome. We saw many more penguins in Isabela though.
This tour was by far the best snorkeling on the islands, so highly recommend. We saw huge schools of fish, turtles, black and white tip sharks, penguins, star fish and more. You hike up to the most famous view of the islands; it was beautiful. Also we really like the Espanola yacht – lots of room on top and in the AC cabin, the chef prepares a wonderful lunch, snacks throughout – just great. We were on low cost yacht for two of our tours and enjoyed them both times. It is a long day, but worth it!
Febrero 2026
We booked a tour via Choko to Bartolome from Santa Cruz and it was excellent. From the moment we booked we received the voucher with the contact details of our operators and information regarding where we needed to meet and what we needed to bring on the day. All in all very good service for a good price.
Chokotours was a great option I found exploring alternatives on the internet to visit Galapagos. All the tours I booked with him happened exactly how they told me. Bartolomé is a great day tour to visit one of the most iconic landscapes of the Archipiélago. Worth mentioned that the snorkel experience on this tour is nothing espectacular (compared to other tours), but the visit of the island is worth it. Be mindful of the 2 hrs boat trip on your way in, and the 2 hrs on the way back! If you have see-sickness, consider investing a bit more (a better boat) to be more confortable if your budget allows it. Great guide, great tripulation, nice food, espectacular experience. Rent a wetsuit! Not only because of the cold water, but because of the sun… It do burn much more than any other place in the world.
Choko was great, booked up 4 tours. Very quick responses and all tours went like clock work. 360 tour was great round San Cristiobol. The sea was rouph on first leg but went past a massive school of dolphins all jumping and playing. Hammer heads at kick rock unforgettable experiences. The Tunnels on Isabela magical caves full of white tip and black tip sharks. Sea turtles and many fish on all the tours. Choko highly recommended.
Choko was very helpful gettting us on a tour to Bartolome island on short notice. A beautiful you, boat and great guide. highly recommened
We loved our trip to Bartolome – what a fantastic day with perfect weather! The walk up to the lookout is tough in the heat if you’re not in A1 shape, but doable and worth it. The snorkelling was great – water was very clear. The only thing the guide left out (even though he told us it was part of the trip) was taking the dingy around the rocky sides of the beach to see the penguins – not sure why he decided not to do that.
Great article! I’m curious, is it better to book the Bartolome Island tour in advance or can you just show up and find a spot? Also, how reliable is the information on prices and availability, especially when comparing different booking platforms?
My platform is very reliable, regarding the different boats on the Bartolome tour, it’s always good to book in advance, always.
The tour was great! Guides were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Meal on the boat was delicious, all other guests were also friendly and chatty, overall great experience, would totally book with them again! – cheers from Minneapolis!
The Bartolomé Island tour was good. The boat trip went well, though I learned that water taxis are required to get to tour boats AND ferries. A highlight was 3-6 dolphins leading the boat for 20 minutes, brown / orange backed. The other tourists were mostly interesting. The guide was good. He led us up many stairs to the top of the island, for a good view. Highlights from the island included (on land) two penguins, a sea lion, and 50-80 2-5-inch clams. I failed at snorkeling (water in mask), but had a good time in all.
Had a great time on the Bartolome tour. The weather was nice, the crew were nice and knowledgeable. We were even provided with a very tasty lunch. Choko tours was easy to communicate with and recommend them.
Everything awesome
Choko tours were always quick to respond, even outside business hours when it was needed, and offered solutions to any problems I had logistically. I went at the end of August and the water was cold, but this boat was the only one who did not include wetsuits for the tour. Perhaps that’s because I chose the cheapest boat option. Not a problem though as I hired a wetsuit in town for $5 and the rest of the tour on my cheap option boat was excellent. Good food, well taken care of and good guid (albeit a little bossy sometimes! Comes from herding tourists around every day I guess!). Bartolome is a must see tour – spectacular view and the clearest water I had for snorkeling. Saw lots of marine life – awesome.
The trip to Bartolome island booked with Choko was beyond any expectation, beautiful trip on a small boat and excellent guide, the hike to the top was really amazing, nature and colours in bartolome are just out of this world, and the snorkeling was incredibile, we saw penguins and sharks a few meters away from the beach
The Bartolome trip was wonderful. We were spoiled by the yacht crew and enjoyed a very pleasant sailing experience with gorgeous scenery along the way. A few passengers even spotted. a whale. There were only 14 passengers on board, a very knowledgeable tour guide, and two or three crew members. They had plenty of snorkel equipment. We went in June. I recommend the short wetsuits for that time of year. We had a beautiful hike up to the top for a gorgeous panoramic view. We saw penguins swimming in the area, a true highlight for my kids. We snorkeled with lots of sea turtles and sting rays. The sea lions were vastly entertaining. They swam near us and seemed a bit jealous of the attention given to the sea turtles. They would start playing to draw our attention. Adorable! Christian Echeverria was so thorough. He is knowledgeable and easy to work with. I highly recommend the tour.
We enjoyed our Bartolome trip a lot. It was a fun day with a good balance between land (walking) and water (snorkelling) activities. The boat we booked was a 3/4 star boat, which did good snacks and lunch (compared to other trips we did on different routes/ different islands).
Also, it was a pretty easy and smooth process to book my trip with Choko. For us, the WeTravel method for payment is a cheaper option to book from the UK. Choko was happy and quick to respond to our specific requests. Thanks for the help again!
Terrific experience. The boat was comfortable with a great crew. Mauricio was informative and painted a terrific picture of the past of Bartolomue Island. Nature was its usual amazing self. I was solo but made quick friends with my terrific companions from L.A. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
We went out to Bartolome Island, the trip started with a bus ride to the docks. The boat was slow, which was nice, we sat our on the front soaking up rays and watching the wildlife. The guide was lovely, and the tour was great. The highlight was swimming with penguins!!! An experience we will never forget, we enjoyed this immensely.
One of the best excursions ! We traveled with out family of 7, the service was second to none. Highly impressed with the level of professionalism and logistics… A must do !
Bartolome Island we went for a slightly more expensive boat and glad we did as we could see the difference in price, you get what you pay for. Great trip there and back and delicious food on board.
We scheduled 6 trips with Choko and are very impressed with the quality and delivery of the tours and the customer service from Christian. For example: the Espanola tour was cancelled due to avian flu and we got the refund back via PayPal in no time. Very pleasant experience, will recommend Chocko tours to everyone.
The Bartolome trip was excellent – we ended up being booked with a very good excursion company: knowledgeable guide and friendly crew on a nice boat/yacht. The Sullivan Bay snorkel was spectacular and the hike up to the “Instagram view” on Bartolome made for a long but perfect day.
Hi I am looking to book some tours from 24th to 31st december
Hi Thomas, sure, but there is for December 23, enter here http://www.choko.tour/book-tours
Booked a tour to Bartolome Island from Santa Cruz Island through ChokoTrip. The web site provided all the information required including the comment that the cheapest tour may not be the most satisfying. We booked a tour on the a yacht and were extremely satisfied with the experience. The booking process was simple and we received quick responses to our questions. The yacht was comfortable and the crew and guide were great. Lunch was delicious. Overall a great experience.
Excellent tour and great booking experience with Choko Trip. I thouroughly enjoyed the experience even though I do not snorkel.
Not knowing much about the tour companies that schedule Galapagos tours, I didn’t want to make a poor decision on whom to work with so I scheduled our daily tours through 4 different companies. Choko was heads above the other three in every way. Christian provided a swift reply to reservation requests. The reservations were accurate. Questions were answered quickly. I also found the information on the website extremely helpful, accurate, and complete. Given that most scheduling companies offer the same tours using the same boats, I strongly recommend Christian.
We opted for flying into San Cristobal, taking the 360 San Cristobal and Isla Lobos tours. Because of bird flu, Espanola was closed. As I understand it, there is a 180 San Cristobal tour. As the last half of the 360 is very rough with no stops, I recommend taking the 180. The highlands tour can be skipped.
We then took a ferry (30 people) to Santa Cruz. We took the Santa Cruz Bay tour, Isabela with the ferry to and from on the same day, Bartolomei with Chinese Hat, and a highlands tour. All were great.
This approach allowed us to do things in the evenings on islands and sleep in a still bed every night. It was also much cheaper than a cruise that takes people to some places that are not very interesting. We swam with sharks, rays, turtles, seals, and fish. We saw frigates, blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, tortoises, and seals.
Remember, always take the largest boat available. When the boats go from island to island, it takes usually about 2 hours, they go very fast, and it can be rough.
The tour bartolome was great, the boat was wonderful and the staff was really nice, always taking care of us and making sure we were always confortable.
Lunch was perfect, the food, the view, the sharing with all the group together.
Bartolome island is really beautiful and we were very lucky with the weather bit our guide was really amazing.
Snorkelling in sombrero chino was a superb experience, with all the fishes, all the animals and the waters so clean and with so much visibility.
It was a wonderful experience and i recommend to everyone.
We had an amazing trip to Bartolome last week. Choko helped us book it and he was extremely helpful and responsive. We got to snorkel with penguins and sea turtles! The ship and crew were very attentive and wonderful with our kids. Highly recommend!
Choko was able to get us on a Bartolome tour when others couldn’t find availability. We loved the food and snacks on the boat, which was also very comfortable. The guide made sure to make sure our children (ages 5 and 9) were included in the activities.
The view from atop Bartolome was magnificent and the snorkeling and beach in Sullivan Bay were the favorite of our trip.
This trip was a 3 hour journey on the boat each way, so that was a downside if you get seasick. It does make a very full (but amazing) day.
Choko helped us booking the 1-day tour to Bartolome Island with Sullivan Bay on the Luxury Yahat. Booking process is easy and fast. He contacted the tour operator for our hotel pick up/ drop off. The guide/crew members are friendly and professional, who made the tour very enjoyable. The foods/drinks. snacks are excellent. I’d recommend to my friends, who are interested in visiting Galapagos.
Booking the Bartolome tour was easy and fast. The service during the trip was excellent. Good food, comfortable boat (as we chose) and great service. Totally recommended!
Luego pusimos hacer snorkel.
Bartolome Island: Great trip, really good cook, we had a wonderful lunch with a lot of vegetables, snorkling was amazing.
The yacht was fantastic as well as the hike, and lunch but the beach snorkeling was a disappointment. Locations are scheduled by the park and we got the poor choice
management is great, but the boat a bit old
and lunch is good
but all is OK
great time great trip
Our day cruise to Bartolome was absolutely amazing!!! The tour was very well organized from the meeting point in the morning, all the way to the drop off. Our guide was extremely educational and we saw so many animals! We saw dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, penguins, lizards, crabs, birds, sea lions, and sharks! I would suggest bringing cash if you need to rent a wetsuit, for beer, and for tipping. Other than that, they take care of all the rest! Thank you for a very memorable day!!!!
We scheduled this trip to Bartolome Island with Choko and everything was wonderful. This is a must-do while on the islands and everything was pretty easy when booking through Chiko. Strongly recommend it.
Amazing trip to Bartolomé! Well worth it.
Excellent tour. Good snorkeling and Bartolomme is amazing. Tour guide was excellent informative. Great food on the boat. Booked through choko Thanks again 🙂
I would recommend this trip. Nice boat, good lunch and excellent snorkeling.
I had some travel issues in Guayaquil (thank you Delta!) and Choko made arrangements last minute and booked me and my family a trip to Bartolome
Fantastic experience, great boat, great bilingual guide and crew. Fully recommended! Thanks again Choko
It was a fabulous trip.
We went on other boat trips booked by other operators, and none had as nice of a boat or as knowledgable of a guide.
Thank you so much.
This was a trip highlight for sure!
Our trip to Bartolome was great- thank you to Choko for arranging this for us. Our tour guide provided us with lots of information about the island and made our experience very enjoyable. Breakfast, snacks, and lunch were provided- all were very good. We had a great time! Thanks Choko
Choko is a great helper in scheduling tuors in Galápagos. The Baltolomé tour was wonderful. The vessel was very comfortable, the personnel very nice and the food excellent. The small Bartolomé island is a panoramic highlight, and the snorkeling at Sullivan Bay was amazing. The whole trip was a dream come true. Thanks !!
Buenas tardes!
Amazing tour with the Catamaran to Bartolomé! The real highlight of our Galapagos trip. Choko made the arrangements with the local agency sooo quickly! And he is always available via email or whatsapp to clear out any doubt.
10 out of 10, truly recommended!
Choko is the best, as every excursion I did was memorable. Bartolome is a must see in the Galapagos. The vista from atop the island is really the best view in all of the islands. Then snorkeling afterwards was great too. Highly recommend this excursion and Choko!!
My husband and i had very little time in the Galapagos Islands. We booked a day trip to Bartolome with Choko Trip. The catamaran was great. it was a smooth ride. There were 14 people on our tour and the boat was a perfect size for all of us. Our guide was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and witty. The crew prepared a delicious lunch. We enjoyed this trip very much!
Choko made it easy to book. We used the WhatApp to contact our guide the day before. This made it easy to hookup with the tour on the day of the trip. Thanks for a great experience!
Increíble experiencia. 100% recomendado.
A fantastic place worth a visit! Everything worked out perfectly, Choko’s arrangements were very accurate and useful.
My adult daughter and I had a wonderful time on our trip to Bartolome Island . Our yacht, the Wind Rose was spectacular. The captain was very professional, as were the rest of the crew. They were also a lot of fun. The on board chef was wonderful, our lunch was delicious. Our guide, Juan Fernando was amazing, so knowledgeable and considerate of the comfort of all of the guests. It was the highlight of our stay in the Galapagos. Well worth the price.
Yes this is an expensive day trip, but if you really want to see pinnacle rock as i did, then you should go. the lunch was actually really good, and enjoyed snorkeling around the island across the way.
We did a land based 16night trip to Galapagos with day trips & ferries arranged by Choko….Bartolome was an amazing island with spectacular views. The boat was the Altamar..it was great, very luxurious with cooked breakfast onboard fruit scrambled eggs toast etc on proper plates cutlery etc..the Boat was very smooth with ample seating inside or on rear on comfortable patio chairs or top deck. After the walk on Bartolome had a full cooked lunch again table service onboard.Snorkelled off a beach en route to Bartolome with tuna & crackers snack after. Cannot recommend boat Altamar enough we also went on the same boat for our North Seymour trip..Thanks to Choko all went very easily..
Our trip to Bartolome Island was wonderful. We saw so much wildlife including a penguin! The snorkeling was good, saw many schools of blue fish. Saw one sea iguana eating under water also.
Our guide was Ricardo who spoke great English. He works as a freelancer and was hired by the tour company for the day.
The boat could have been better. The exhaust fumes were terrible when sitting on the back of the boat. The food was mediocre. That’s the only complaint.
I would recommend to anyone to go and experience Bartolome Island. Will never forget it.
I contacted Choko to book a tour to Bartelome. I told him I get seasick and was concerned about the boat size. He booked me on a wonderful tour on a large yacht. The tour was amazing, great food, great guide, great staff. The booking process was easy and Choko always respomded to my questions. The tour company was top notch.
On short notice, Choko helped us get a tour to Bartolome Island. On Choko’s website he comments that “you get what you pay for”. The Yachat was not the lowest price, but we feel like we truly got our money’s worth.
First, Choko make the arrangements quickly and smoothly for us. This included easy payment methods by credit card.
The boat is kept in immaculate condition. It was more than comfortable for the 16 people on our tour. We could sit inside an air conditioned cabin, or out on the front or rear decks. They cooked us a fine lunch, including making special arrangements for people who were vegetarian or with other food preferences. They had 2 good toilets, and cabins for changing clothes before and after snorkeling. They also provided snacks, towels, and nice snorkeling equipment. They called us out onto the decks to see fish jumping, proposes swimming with the boat, and other sights en route to the island.
Our guide, Felipe Ayala, was outstanding. Full of details and descriptions of geology, flora, and fauna. The plan for the day was well described and clear. Bartolome Island is the iconic spot seen in many Galapagos photographs. There is a boardwalk to the top of a tuff cone. We did not climb quickly, but rather moved at a pace that all could accommodate, while learning much about the amazing geology of the islands during our climb. Felipe described the development of various islands in the Galapagos, and explained the connections between flora, fauna, and geology. Later, we went to a beautiful spot for snorkeling before returning to Santa Cruz Island. We were fully informed at every moment. It was a delightful and comfortable day.
We never would have been able to find this great trip to Bartolome Island without the help of Choko! We deeply appreciate his lightning fast responses to email and WhatsApp messages, and all that he did to make this unforgettable moment possible for us.
We scheduled a trip to Bartolome with Choko. Everything was great. I found the follow up to be wonderful.
