Galapagos and Ecuador, New entry requirement in 2025
If you want to explore the Galapagos or Ecuador in 2025, we have news for you. The Ecuadorian government has introduced a new temporary requirement for citizens of the following countries: Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru. This also applies to travelers of any nationality and Ecuadorians who have stayed in these countries for more than 10 days.
Chokotrip unlike Viator, Civitavis, GetYourGuide and other
When you book tours through ChokoTrip or ChokoTours, you`ll receive the names of the boats and operators, so you have security in your reservations. Many people believe that the policy on websites like Expedia, Viator, etc that allow you to cancel your tour 24 hours in advance are favorable however, it also means tour operators can cancel your tour 24 hours in advance, which happens frequently in Galapagos. This is not a risk when booking with us because we work directly with the local operators, which also allows us to keep our prices down. We dont take big commissions from the locals that the travel companies do so our prices are not inflated.
The new temporary requirements to enter Ecuador starting May 12, 2025, in response to the yellow fever outbreak in neighboring countries, require the International Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate to be shown.
The certificate must show that it was applied at least 10 days before entering Ecuador. Remember that the yellow fever vaccine is valid for life. The only exception: It will not be required for people over 60 years of age.
Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands continue to welcome international visitors with open arms to their four regions; there are no current alerts. Therefore, if you already have your yellow fever vaccination, just don’t forget to bring your card; the vaccine is for life.
