Lobos Island | Tour price $140 | Galapagos

4.5/5 - (20 votes)

Walk among volcanic rocks and observe blue-footed booby juveniles, frigates and sea lions. I can help you book the tour to Lobos Island for $140.

This tour is ideal if you’d like to experience Galapagos wildlife in their natural habitat. Isla Lobos is found only 25 minutes by boat from San Cristobal. Upon arrival, you’ll make a dry landing and walk about 1 km to reach a location where you can observe blue-footed booby nests, two species of frigates (common and real).

Trip itinerary:

You’ll depart from the operator’s office at the designated time, it may be in the morning at 8:00 am or in the afternoon at 1:00 pm.

If there aren’t enough tourists for these hours, the operator may consolidate the groups for a departure time at 9 am. Travelers are updated as needed.

Once you arrive on the Island, you’ll make a drylanding. Then, you’ll go on a 1km hike to observe blue-footed booby nesting sites and two types of frigates (common and royal)

The majority of this hike is over large volcanic rocks and you’ll be able to observe sea lion colonies (hence the island’s name!), including about 3 alpha males guarding over their colony and offspring.

Once you’ve completed the hike, you return to the yacht and head to Playa Ochoa where you can snorkel or simply relax on its beach.

    TRAVEL SAFE THROUGH THE GALAPAGOS

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we realized that travel plans can change overnight and, if we experience an emergency outisde of our own country, we would expect travel assistance that actually works during a crisis. From now own, I strongly recommend having good travel and trip cancellation insurance.
