Pinzon Island (Galapagos – Ecuador) is one of the most recent day tours I’ve been on and I happened to go with my family. We combine the tour with La Fe Beach, which you get to by swimming there and you’ll see many Galapagos marine iguanas swimming on the beach with you.

How to get to Pinzon Island?
The only way to get to Pinzon Island for the moment is by taking a day tour from Santa Cruz Island.
Trip Itinerary
We reached the first stop, called Penguin Bay, and were lucky enough to see Galapagos and white-tipped sharks nearby. I’m not going to lie; it was pretty scary!
Sea turtles and penguins swam close by and we observed without harassing or following them. The sea lions weren’t around due to the sharks. Penguins are only present when water temperatures drop.
This tour combines with a visit to La Fe or Las Palmitas, beautiful beaches where you can snorkel with sea turtles. Depending on the permit your vessel has, you might visit this spot before or after visiting Pinzón Island.
After the visit to Pinzon, you’ll head to “Roca sin nombre” (a rock without a name) that measures about 20 meters that is located in the middle of the ocean. Here, you can see blue-footed boobies, lava gulls, sea lions.
Also includes a segment of experiential fishing, which is a demonstrative form for passengers to observe the art traditional fishing with a cane rod. Some people may not enjoy watching as the fish is removed from the ocean, but the Galapagos National Park actually requires tours to demonstrate traditional fishing to visitors so that they are also aware of the relationship between humans and the Galapagos ocean. If a fish is caught that is the right size/weight and specie, it is kept for consumption, but if it does not meet these standards, it is released.
Currently there is a tour to Isla Pinzon that combines with Isla Daphne minor, and stops at Bahia Borrero Beach. At Bahia Borrero Beach, you will have time to enjoy the beach and to snorkel. This site is important because of the large number of nesting turtles. Apart from the turtles, you’ll see starfish and numerous fish in its surroundings.
Around the crater of Daphne minor, the small volcanic island, you’ll find hundreds of birds feeding and nesting, such as masked boobies, blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, tropical birds and finches. The island’s coast is teeming with squid, sardines and fish that are the primary source of food for the different bird species.

This was the best tour we did in Galapagos! We got to swim with lots of sharks and tropical fish. The sea lions play with you in the water. The lunch provided was also very good. Our guide Jimmy was very entertaining and knowledgeable. I was also grateful to have booked with Choko after I learned how much other people on our tour paid for it.
Fun trip and one of the better meals I had in the Galapagos was on this tour boat visiting Pinzon island.
The Pinzon tour was one of our favourite snorkeling tours on Galapagos! The naturalist Guide was awesome and the food was delicious. The organization with Choko tours was easy and comfortable!
This is a relaxed and enjoyable trip, and I really enjoyed it
We did the Pinzon Island Tour with additional stop at Bahia Borrero beach for lunch and a snorkel at Daphne Major. It was incredible!! The tour was well organised and our guide was knowledgeable and we felt very safe snorkelling with him and our group, and also with the crew on the boat. Really kind and helpful! To name a few marine animals we saw during our trip: turtles, diamond stingrays, marine iguanas, octopus, rass fish, parrot fish, baby barracudas, starfish, reef sharks, sea lions, puffer fish and more! We also saw lots of pelicans, blue footed boobies, nazca boobies, tropicbirds and frigatebirds. Highly recommend!
The trip was perfectly organized via ChokoTrip, everything went well.
Regarding the tour itself, the highlight for us was the chance to play with sea lions inside the water, amazing experience!
Besides sea lions, the guide was good and patient, he was able to find & show us all the other sea animals we expected to see
Fantastic trip. We Saw tons of very colourful fishes, White tip sharks and turtles. We did 3 snorkeling trips during our stay in the Galapagos and this one had the clearest water and the most fish. The crew was a lot of fun and interacted with all of us. We even caught a Tuna. I would highly recommend the Pinzon island tour, definitely worth the money.
We had a great trip to Pinzon- we stopped at La Fe where we were able to see a couple sea lions and more iguanas. Pinzon had great snorkeling where we were able to see many turtles, a few white tip sharks, and blue footed boobies! I loved the snorkeling here.
We took a snorkeling trip to Pinzon island on yacht Angeles Thaiz, which also included bird watching at Daphne Major and a stop on a beach on the way back from Pinzon. The boat was very nice and the food was excellent, but it was probably not the right boat to go to Pinzon. That day, it took us close to 3 hours to get from Daphne Major to a beautiful bay at Pinzon, where we snorkeled and had lunch.
Wonderful trip! To my surprise, I saw a penguin! The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. She knew lots of facts about the Galapagos. The food on the boat was delicious. I had a fantastic time! Thank you!!
