Chokotrip unlike Viator, Civitavis, GetYourGuide and other
When you book tours through ChokoTrip or ChokoTours, you`ll receive the names of the boats and operators, so you have security in your reservations. Many people believe that the policy on websites like Expedia, Viator, etc that allow you to cancel your tour 24 hours in advance are favorable however, it also means tour operators can cancel your tour 24 hours in advance, which happens frequently in Galapagos. This is not a risk when booking with us because we work directly with the local operators, which also allows us to keep our prices down. We dont take big commissions from the locals that the travel companies do so our prices are not inflated.
How to get to Pinzon Island?
The only way to visit Pinzón Island at the moment is by taking a day tour from Santa Cruz Island. Currently, there is also the Pinzón with Daphne Major tour, which has a different price but can also only be done as a day tour.

Fishing on the Pinzon Island Tour

Experiential fishing at Pinzon Island
Trip Itinerary
Everything starts from the meeting point assigned by the operator, followed by a one-and-a-half-hour navigation to reach Pinzón Island or the combination beach—all of which depends on the permit granted by the Galápagos National Park.
We reached the first stop, called Penguin Bay, and were lucky enough to see Galapagos and white-tipped sharks nearby. I’m not going to lie; it was pretty scary!
Sea turtles and penguins swam close by and we observed without harassing or following them. The sea lions weren’t around due to the sharks. Penguins are only present when water temperatures drop.
This tour combines with a visit to La Fe or Las Palmitas, beautiful beaches where you can snorkel with sea turtles. Depending on the permit your vessel has, you might visit this spot before or after visiting Pinzón Island.
After the visit to Pinzon, you’ll head to “Roca sin nombre” (a rock without a name) that measures about 20 meters that is located in the middle of the ocean. Here, you can see blue-footed boobies, lava gulls, sea lions.
Also includes a segment of experiential fishing, which is a demonstrative form for passengers to observe the art traditional fishing with a cane rod. Some people may not enjoy watching as the fish is removed from the ocean, but the Galapagos National Park actually requires tours to demonstrate traditional fishing to visitors so that they are also aware of the relationship between humans and the Galapagos ocean. If a fish is caught that is the right size/weight and specie, it is kept for consumption, but if it does not meet these standards, it is released.
Trip Itinerary Pinzon with Daphne major
This tour, also called Tour 180° in Santa Cruz, meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 07:45, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 06:45. This is because the tour starts from Puerto Ayora and ends in Puerto Itabaca, and vice versa.
The tour includes several visiting points depending on the day: Bahía Borrero, Las Palmitas, Islote Dum, Bahía Pinguino, and Daphne Major. At Bahía Borrero Beach, you will have time for beach activities. This site is very important due to **the large number of turtles and iguanas nesting** in the surrounding area. You can also find various starfish and fish nearby. At Las Palmitas, Islote Dum, and Bahía Pinguino, basic snorkeling is offered.
On the small volcanic island of Daphne Mayor, hundreds of birds can be found feeding and nesting around the crater, including masked boobies, blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, tropicbirds, and finches that surround the small island. Its shores are full of squid, sardines, and fish, which are the primary food source for the diverse bird species. Intermediate snorkeling experience is recommended for Daphne Mayor.

Chokotours was a great option I found exploring alternatives on the internet to visit Galapagos. All the tours I booked with him happened exactly how they told me. Pinzon is a nice island where the snorkeling experience includes sea lions, turtles and with luck sharks and rays.
The daphne and pinzon island tour was great. Daphne was very special! We saw a lot of cool plants and corals, lots of sharks. Pinzon island was a less spectacular location, but the many sea lions and turtles put on quite a show!
This was the best tour we did in Galapagos! We got to swim with lots of sharks and tropical fish. The sea lions play with you in the water. The lunch provided was also very good. Our guide Jimmy was very entertaining and knowledgeable. I was also grateful to have booked with Choko after I learned how much other people on our tour paid for it.
Fun trip and one of the better meals I had in the Galapagos was on this tour boat visiting Pinzon island.
The Pinzon tour was one of our favourite snorkeling tours on Galapagos! The naturalist Guide was awesome and the food was delicious. The organization with Choko tours was easy and comfortable!
This is a relaxed and enjoyable trip, and I really enjoyed it
We did the Pinzon Island Tour with additional stop at Bahia Borrero beach for lunch and a snorkel at Daphne Major. It was incredible!! The tour was well organised and our guide was knowledgeable and we felt very safe snorkelling with him and our group, and also with the crew on the boat. Really kind and helpful! To name a few marine animals we saw during our trip: turtles, diamond stingrays, marine iguanas, octopus, rass fish, parrot fish, baby barracudas, starfish, reef sharks, sea lions, puffer fish and more! We also saw lots of pelicans, blue footed boobies, nazca boobies, tropicbirds and frigatebirds. Highly recommend!
The trip was perfectly organized via ChokoTrip, everything went well.
Regarding the tour itself, the highlight for us was the chance to play with sea lions inside the water, amazing experience!
Besides sea lions, the guide was good and patient, he was able to find & show us all the other sea animals we expected to see
Fantastic trip. We Saw tons of very colourful fishes, White tip sharks and turtles. We did 3 snorkeling trips during our stay in the Galapagos and this one had the clearest water and the most fish. The crew was a lot of fun and interacted with all of us. We even caught a Tuna. I would highly recommend the Pinzon island tour, definitely worth the money.
We had a great trip to Pinzon- we stopped at La Fe where we were able to see a couple sea lions and more iguanas. Pinzon had great snorkeling where we were able to see many turtles, a few white tip sharks, and blue footed boobies! I loved the snorkeling here.
We took a snorkeling trip to Pinzon island on yacht Angeles Thaiz, which also included bird watching at Daphne Major and a stop on a beach on the way back from Pinzon. The boat was very nice and the food was excellent, but it was probably not the right boat to go to Pinzon. That day, it took us close to 3 hours to get from Daphne Major to a beautiful bay at Pinzon, where we snorkeled and had lunch.
Wonderful trip! To my surprise, I saw a penguin! The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. She knew lots of facts about the Galapagos. The food on the boat was delicious. I had a fantastic time! Thank you!!
