Traveling with children to the Galápagos is possible, so I’ll leave you with some of the islands we visited that are perfect, as well as tips we used when we had to deal with certain barriers that a child will present, if you travel to the Galápagos.

9 Tips for Traveling with Family and Children to Galapagos
- Children from ages 2 to 11 pay half the flight fare on any airline.
- Children must carry a passport or national ID card to enter the islands.
- There is a discount on inter-island ferries. You should be prepared for seasickness on the boats.
- Before traveling with children to the Galapagos, (if possible) go to a beach and get them used to swimming in the sea and/or have them take swimming classes.
- Always pack a kit for the children if you are traveling from December to May: caps or hats, walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, lightweight long-sleeve shirts, water bottles, snacks, motion sickness tablets or candies.
- On the other hand, from June to November, add these items: Buy them a fitted long wetsuit, because the water is cold, quick-dry towels, windbreaker jackets.
- Buy your own snorkel and lifejacket (although lifejackets for children are provided on the tours) and practise in a pool to get used to them.
- Many of the tours involve one hour of walking or less, except for the Sierra Negra Volcano on Isabela, which is 16 km and is not recommended for minors. However, on the other tours, there is little walking. That is why you should wear good shoes and bring enough water to stay hydrated.
- Whether you enter through Santa Cruz or San Cristóbal, take advantage of your first day to go to a quiet beach, such as Tortuga Bay on Santa Cruz or Punta Carola on San Cristóbal.

Places to go with family and children in Galapagos
Remember that most of the time in the Galapagos Islands is spent at sea and on the beaches. That’s why I’m leaving you some places to visit without a tour on each of the islands.
- Santa Cruz Island: Laguna las Ninfas, Tortuga Bay Beach, Los Alemanes Beach, Garrapatero Beach, Charles Darwin Station, Las Grietas. The last two charge $10 per person, because these places are now visited with a guide.
- Isabela Island: Concha Perla, Any Beach in Isabela, Flamingo Pond, The mangroves that are on the way to the walls of Las Lágrimas.
- San Cristobal Island: Mann Beach, Punta Carola Beach, Marina Beach, Las Tijeretas, Interpretation Center.

In addition to the things you can do on your own and enjoy the beaches on any of the three islands, here are some tours that are recommended to go with children on each of the islands.

- Isabela Island: Cabo Rosa tunnels, Tintoreras in Kayak.
- San Cristobal Island: 360 Tour, Kicker Rock, Lobos island.

If you are going to travel with children to the Galapagos Islands, I recommend going to San Cristóbal Island, it has tours that can be enjoyed with minors, its beaches are close and easy to get to.
