Cabo Rosa Tunnels Tour from Isabela (Galapagos)
If you’ve ever dreamt of swimming with marine turtles, stingrays, sharks and seahorses, you can literally do this on the Cabo Rosa Tunnels Tour. I can help you book the tour to Cabo Rosa tunnels for $124.8
This tour includes three stops (you can also check out the map at the end of this blog):
Stop 1: la Unión rock followed by a 45 minute boat ride to
Stop 2: Cabo Rosa Tunnels (short hike) and nearby,
Stop 3: Finados (snorkeling)
Cabo Rosa Tunnels offers the best snorkeling on Galapagos Islands, hands down (to me!). The tour begins with a stop at la Unión, a small island/rock in the open sea where you’ll observe pelicans, nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies and the occasional sun-bathing sea lion.
After this short spot, you’ll continue by boat for another 45-minutes to get to the Cabo Rosa Tunnels, the most beautiful lavarock formations on the Galapagos Islands. Ancient lava eruptions created the Cabo Rosa tunnels, an expanse of arcs where you’ll observe sea lions and marine turtles weaving their way below the surface of the crystalline water. Here, you’ll get to take a short walk across the lavarock formations and snap some nice pictures.
After this point, the tour will take you to a place nearby known as Finados to snorkel with sea turtles, sharks, golden rays, eagle rays, sea horses and fish, such as sturgeons and damselfish, otherwise known as the demoiselle.
You should know that the vessels that offer tours to these Tunnels aren’t luxurious because they need to be light and fast to enter the areas visited on Isabela. Some days the swell might be strong, which makes navigation difficult but, rest assured, the captains have it under control.
PS: Due to sea conditions (swells and waves) and, depending on the tide, tours into the actual tunnels may be cancelled or reprogramed with short notice. Above all else, the safety of our passengers is our priority.
